For Tess Gibbs, owner of Corazon, a new home accent store on the square in Fayetteville, crafting her master bathroom was a key aspect of her overall home renovation. “I’ve lived all over the country, and I was very excited to return to Fayetteville,” she says. “My parents built this home in 1955, and since the structure was sound, I focused on updating the façade and adding more square footage to make it my own.”

Along with screened-in porches on three sides of the house, Tess’ largest addition was 1,000 square feet, which included the master bedroom and bathroom. “I had pieces of the bathroom in my mind,” she says. “I had seen a floating wall in a magazine that I liked, and I knew I wanted separate areas composed in a large space.” For the overall design, Tess consulted Brett and Stacey Park of Park Company Architects in Fayetteville. “They offered me several ideas regarding each aspect,” Tess says. “I was able to pick and choose to make the entire space my own. My goal was to make a very usable and livable bathroom.”

Beautiful onyx tile from Natural Stone Accents in Rogers immediately draws attention with its toffee-brown background and veins of striking greens. It runs along the countertops, throughout the floor-to-ceiling shower and surrounds the Jacuzzi tub, creating color and textural consistency. The Jacuzzi tub is housed in rosewood, which was custom built for Tess’ space and complements the tile’s overall hue. “I love the character of wood, and have several varieties throughout the house,” she says. The floating wall separates two countertop areas, each with its own glass bowl sink. One side boasts a coffee bar and built-in refrigerator for extra convenience, while the other side offers plenty of counter space and cabinets to accommodate Tess’ morning routine. “I love all the extra features like the outlets located on the inside of the drawers,” she says. “I worked with incredibly talented people who taught me that anything was possible. If I had the idea, they could make it happen.”
